This is the official news letter of HeartCare Cardiac Support Group. The news letter is sent to all members, we think this is very important, as it is the voice of HeartCare. We do accept voluntary donations for HeartCare News Letter and this seems to be working very well.

The news letter is produced bi-monthly in A5 booklet size and has a  varied content, inside you can find out all about HeartCare and keep up to date on the latest breaking news, there is a page where you can contact Committee members. There is a form for make donations. Many of our members are too ill to travel to our social meetings so they look forward to receiving their copy bi-monthly through the post. We are always interested in receiving suitable material for publishing, don't be afraid to send in items, please let us decide if it is suitable or not.

News Letter Back to What We Do What We Do

May I begin by wishing each and every one of you A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

Once again, we embark upon a journey into the unknown! You appreciate the Heartcare News has disappeared as no-one volunteered to become editor and in its place we have this news letter in which events and also other matters of interest can be forwarded to you the members. I am indebted to both Peter and Colin for the effort they have put into it – I know there have been moments of frustration when the computer would not do as it was told!!! (It almost went out of the window a few times!!).

The annual AGM once again proved a disappointment in that only 39 members thought it important enough to attend. I did have 20 apologises and to those of you who sent them or phoned them in, I thank you. You missed out on our interval treat of free homemade cakes – we managed to sell quite a few afterwards – and this was followed by the chance to win chocolate bars with the musical quiz and sing-a-long provided by Peter and myself! I hope those of you who attended enjoyed yourselves and I believe you did as the quest to win chocolate bars proved quite hilarious at times!!

I must point out that the speakers for January and February have agreed to swop over! Jayne Biggs, whose 7 year old daughter had a heart attack, is taking our January meeting as she is off to America in February to meet up with other parents whose children have also endured the same condition. Worth noting, since I have made contact with Jayne, she has spoken in Parliament about her experiences! This means local historian Ivan Bunn will be speaking about Haunted Lowestoft in February – at least the nights will have started to get a little lighter by then!!March sees us welcoming our annual visit from Wrentham Brass Band and don’t forget The Cabaret April 8th. Application details are included in this news letter if you are unable to buy your tickets at one of the social meetings.

Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the monthly meetings.
